Additional Dining Information

Sack Meals and Dining on the Run
If you are unable to attend lunch or dinner, you may pick-up a made-to-order sack meal during breakfast hours at Mesa Commons or Pippin. If you have work scheduling conflicts, ask your Dining Manager about our Dining on the Run extended menu and microwavable items to go. An order form is available online at www.ucidining.com or may be picked up at Mesa Commons or Pippin. Sack meals and Dining on the Run services are available Monday - Friday only. These services are not available during finals week.

Barbecue Grills
Portable grills are available to checkout for events from the Dining Manager. To obtain a grill for your event, you must leave a valid picture ID with the Dining Manager. This card will be returned to you upon return of the clean and undamaged grill. There is a $400 replacement fee for each grill damaged or not returned.

Special Diets
If you require a special diet for medical reasons, we are well prepared to assist you by customizing our menu to fit your needs. Please contact one of the Dining Managers for complete information and to assist you with developing your special diet.

Birthday Parties
We'd love to help you celebrate! Order a Birthday Party for you and your friends. Each package includes a decorated birthday cake, candles, matches, cake plates, forks and napkins. Please contact a Dining Manager at any dining location for ordering information and pricing. Available cake sizes: 10-inch round cake (feeds 8 -10 people); Half-sheet cake (feeds 20 - 30 people); and Full-sheet cake (feeds 80 - 100 people).

A la Carte Items and Party Trays
A wide variety of catered items are available at special prices for students with meal plans. Everything you need from munchies to barbecue items to party trays can be ordered through Residential Dining. Items are available for pick-up with a 72-hour advance order. So, if you're planning a special event or a gathering with friends, please ask a Dining Manager for details. Menus are viewable online at www.ucidining.com.

Retreat Meals (Minimum of 15 students)
A retreat meal is a meal with paper products to go and intended to be used for trips and eating off campus. If you and a group of fellow residents are planning an outing and would like to take food with you, you may choose a retreat meal and we will have it packed and ready for you. Retreat forms are available at the cashier stations at Mesa Commons and Pippin. The retreat form and student meal card numbers must be turned in to the Dining Manager 72 hours prior to your event. Your group may order up to three retreat meals in combination with sack meals. Talk to friends or your RA and make plans to use this unique dining option. Retreat meals are not available during finals week. Retreat meal menus are viewable online at www.ucidining.com.

#1 - The Retreat Barbeque

  • Hamburgers - Hot Dogs - Garden Burgers - Bulk Potato Chips - Potato Salad or Pasta Salad

  • Condiments (Ketchup, Mustard, Mayonnaise and Salt & Pepper Packets) - Assorted Canned Sodas
  • Ice - Plates, Knives, Forks, Spoons and Napkins - Serving Utensils

#2 - The Picnic Feast

  • Pre-cooked Chicken Marinated in BBQ Sauce or Teriyaki Sauce - Vegetable Lasagna - Baked Beans
  • Cole Slaw - Seasonal Fruit - Corn Bread Muffins - Brownies or Dessert Bars - Parmesan Cheese
  • Assorted Canned Sodas - Ice - Plates, Knives, Forks, Spoons and Napkins - Serving Utensils

#3 - Sunrise

  • Bagels and Cream Cheese - Apples, Oranges and Bananas - Assorted Cereal - Milk
  • Orange Juice - Cereal Bowls, Knives, Spoons, Cups and Napkins

#4 - The Weekender - (Available for Saturday or Sunday Brunch Only)
