Sustainability on Campus

CSUB Dining is seeking a proactive approach to provide vision and leadership in response to environmental stewardship for the Bakersfield community. In an effort to become more sustainable and embrace our social responsibility, we are actively engaging in the following initiatives:

• CSUB Dining is now composting all food waste and biodegradable products!
• We are proud to be a 100% waste free facility!
• All our used cooking oil is converted into Biodiesel
• Most of our produce is grown locally (reduces CO2 emissions from transportation)
• We use green cooking practices
• Our to-go containers are fully biodegradable
• To-go utensils at the Dining commons are biodegradable
