All coffee grounds and pre-consumer produce waste is recycled to make compost, that in turn, feeds the campus landscape.BiodegradableDining Services now offers paper drinking cups and snacks for to-go programs at The Plaza. Connection Cafe, Starbucks locations and the University Club (Faculty and Staff restaurant). Connection Cafe also has to-go containers made of recycled corn materials. The Plaza is now using biodegradable utensils by Eco Products. The forks, spoons and knives are made of bio-plastic, which is derived from renewable sources like corn and vegetable starch. The new utensils can be used for both hot and cold meals, and are able to withstand temperatures between 165 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
