Eco To-Go FAQ's

How do I sign up?

You can join the program by enrolling at the Roadrunner Café or the C3 Store in theUC II. You will need to provide your name, e-mail address, and a refundable $7.00deposit. You may pay the deposit using cash only. Once enrolled, youwill receive a card which you will exchange for your to-go container at theRoadrunner Café.

Where can I exchange a card for an eco to-go container?

You can exchange your card for a to-go meal at the Roadrunner Café. All you need to do is use your meal plan or pay for your meal and give your card to the cashier. The cashier will then provide you with an eco to-go container. Fill it up, take it out, and enjoy your tasty meal anywhere you’d like.

What do I do with my container when I’m finished eating?

After you eat, empty your container of any leftovers. When convenient, return the ecoto-go container to the cashier at either the Roadrunner Café or the C3 Store inthe UC II.

Can I eat at the Roadrunner Café and take a meal to go?

No. When taking part in the eco to-go program, you must fill up your container and exit the Roadrunner Café. You will not be allowed to dine in and take a meal to-go during the same visit to theRoadrunner Café. If you are caught abusing the system, your membership will be revoked.

Am I able to take a drink to-go?

You may take one beverage to-go from the Roadrunner Café if you use a Green Thread reusable cup.  This cup is available for purchase for $4.99 + tax at the C3 Store, Chili’s Too, P.O.D. Express, and the Downtown Food Court. With the purchase of a Green Thread reusable cup, you are also eligible to receive 99¢ refills wherever fountain drinks are sold on campus.

What about utensils?

Since this is an eco to-go program, we highly encourage you to invest in a set of reusable cutlery for your room oroffice, but if needed, you may ask the cashier at the Roadrunner Café for plastic cutlery to use with your to-go container.

How does my container get cleaned?

UTSA Dining will run all dirty containers through our industrial strength dishwasherat a temperature of 180 degrees.  That’s 60 degrees hotter than your standard home dishwasher.  We take responsibility for cleaning all containers to ensure proper sanitization.

Am I able to get my deposit back?

You must opt out of the program before the end of spring semester 2012 by returning your card or container to the Roadrunner Café or the C3 Store and requesting to end your participation.  The cashier will gladly refund your $7.00. AFTER SPRING SEMESTER 2012, YOU WILL NOTRECEIVE A REFUND.

What if I lose my container or card? What if my box breaks or becomes “unusable”?

You will be unable to receive your $7.00 deposit back and must re-enroll in order to continue participation. The cashier or manager on duty will determine if your container is still in good condition each time you return it. If the cashier or manager on duty decides your box is not in good condition, you will be asked to put down a $7.00 deposit inorder to re-enroll.

If I want to participate again next year, can I keep my card?

No. We are making changes to the program, so you must opt-out by the last day ofspring semester 2012. We encourage you to return to the program in fall 2012.
