What is Family Link?

For Students:  Family Link allows students to give other people the ability to view their current balance.  

For Parents, Family or Friends:  If you are family linked to a student who has a saved card, you can in turn, link the student to your account, and then make purchases on their behalf without needing to know their card number.

How do I use Family Link?

Login.  Go to 'My Account' 'Family Link' and click the 'new family' button.  Enter their email address, this should be the same email address they will use for login to the website.  Students should make sure to save their card number in the 'OneCard' (Student ID Card Options) screen. 

Students:  The family member will receive an email with a password to their account if they did not previously create one.  When they login they can see your balance.  Please be sure on the 'OneCard' (Student ID Card Options) screen that 'Allow Family Linked Users to View Balance' is set to yes.

Parents, Family or Friends:  If the student has saved their ID card information, you can then 'Family Link' them to your account so that you may purchase for them by selecting their name on the recipient page instead of entering their name and card number.  You will also be able to view their current balance on the home page.

How can my family or friends see my balance?

Create a family link for each person you want to be able to see your balance.  If they do not have an account, one will automatically be created for them, and their password will be emailed to them.  Next time they login they will be able to see your balance on the homepage.  Please be sure on the 'OneCard' (Student ID Card Options) screen that 'Allow Family Linked Users to View Balance' is set to yes.

How can my family or friends make a purchase for me by using the Family Link?

Overview:  First, the student saves their ID card number and uses 'Family Link' to link the family member to their account.  Then, the family member would login to the website and use 'Family Link' to link the student to their account.

Student:  Make sure you first link your card on the 'My Account' 'OneCard' (Student ID Card Options) screen.  Then, Family Link your family or friends in the 'My Account' 'Family Link'  screen.

Parents, Family or Friends:  Make sure your student has followed the 'Student' instruction first.  Then, when you login to the website with your email and password, you will see the student's balance.  To purchase for them without having to know their ID information, simply link your student to your account using the 'My Account' 'Family Link' screen.

If I don't use all of my meals in one week, do they carry over to the following week?

Meals per week do NOT carry over from one week to the next on the Gold Plan, Silver and Eagle plans.  Flex meals on the Unlimited and Freedom plans can be used anytime during the semester.

Can I change my Dining Plan?

Yes.  You have the opportunity to change your meal plan during the first week of the fall and/or spring semesters.  Simply go to the Residence Life office in Dinkins Student Union and fill out a meal plan change form.

What happens to my unused Cafe Cash at the end of the semester?

Your unused Cafe Cash transfers from the fall to the spring semester.  Any unused Cafe Cash points at the end of the spring semester are non-refundable and are forfeited on June 30th.

Can I treat a friend by using two meals in a meal period?

No. Meals are not transferable.  However, you may use your Cafe Cash to treat guests at any dining location.

What do I do if my Cafe Cash runs low?

Each time you purchase a meal, you may ask the cashier to tell you how many meals and/or Cafe Cash dollars you have remaining.  If your Cafe Cash runs low, you can add more to your account at any time using cash, check, money order, or credit card.  Simply stop by the Dining Services office located in Thomson Hall or log onto our website 24 hours a day/7 days a week and place your order online to add to your Cafe Cash account.

What if I lose my Dining/ID card?

Lost cards must be reported immediately to the Dining Services office by calling 803-323-2119.  You can obtain a replacement card at the ID office in Tillman Hall.  Dining Services also issues a temporary card that will allow you to use your meals for $2.00.

If I don't have an existing Cafe Cash account, can I still purchase online?
You will need a current active account to purchase Cafe Cash online.  The reason for this is that the Cafe Cash purchases are INSTANTLY added to your account, thus you must have an account in place prior to making a purchase.


How can I see my Dining Dollars balance on the home page?
Login, or create an account, then go to 'My Account', 'OneCard Options' and save your card.  The options 'View Dining Account balance online' and 'Show balance on Homepage' should both be set to 'yes'.  You will then be able to see your balance on the homepage.

How do I create an account?
Click the 'Login' button located on the upper right side of the website, then on the login page click the 'create a new account' link.

If my account is locked, or I have lost my password, what do I do?
Click the 'Login' button, on the login page click the 'Forgot Password / Locked out' link.  On the following page enter your email address to have a new password emailed to you.  This will also unlock your account.  Please check your junk or spam email folder for the password reset email if applicable.

My card number changed, how do I save my new card number?
Contact the dining office to request that your saved card be removed.  Provide your name and email address you use to login to CampusDish.  You will then have to enter in your new card information.  Please allow 24 hours for the reset.

What does error 'account number is invalid for 'Student ID', or the system does not recognize the configuration,  please contact us with any questions', mean?
One Card (Student ID Card Options) Screen:  Someone may already have linked that card number to their CampusDish account.  Each card may only be linked to one CampusDish account.  Did you make a CampusDish account previously?  Maybe your parents already linked your card?  Contact the dining office to have your card status verified.

Recipient Page:  Your dining card account is either not in the system or incorrectly entered, inactive or expired.  Please contact the dining office to have your card status verified.

Please note:  Our online ordering system supports IE, Firefox and Opera browsers.  We do not currently support Safari browsers.
