Who is required to purchase a meal plan? 

University policy requires students who live in a residence hall to purchase one of the meal plans each semester.  Freshmen living in residence halls must choose from the Catamount, Gold, or Purple plan.


What if I don’t use all my block plan meals during the semester? 
Unused block plan meals are forfeited at the end of each semester.


What happens to unused Declining Balance Points at the end of each semester? 
All unused DB points transfer at the end of the fall semester to the spring semester. All unused DB points at the end of the spring semester are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to the next term. We strongly encourage you to select the plan that will best meet your needs and to use all of your declining balance points.


Can I change my meal plan?
Yes, meal plan changes are allowed until the last day of Drop/Add for classes. Changes must be made in the One Stop located in Killian Annex.


How can I find my DB Balance?
Each time you make a purchase in any dining location, you may ask the cashier for your meal or DB points balance.


What if I have special dietary requirements?
Dining Services will make every effort to accommodate any special dietary needs. You should schedule an appointment with the food service director to discuss available options.


Do I have to have my Cat Card to eat? 
You must have your Cat Card to use your meal plan. Your meal plan is not transferable. You should not loan your card to a friend. If your Cat Card is lost or damaged, you must have it replaced.


Are all dining locations open all the time?
Dining locations are open 
7:00am - 2:00am 7 Days a Week

All locations are not open all of these hours.  Please check the locations section for specific hours for each location. 


What is the Catamount Plan and how can I use it? 
The Catamount Plan grants you unlimited access to our Courtyard Dining Hall.  We will not keep track of how many times you go, and you are able to go as many times as you would like. 

*With the Catamount Plan you are the only one that is able to use unlimited block meal component, you will not be able to charge another individuals block meal on your card.*


What is the average meals per week for each meal plan? 

Gold - 8 Meals Per Week

Purple - 5 Meals Per Week

Catamount - Unlimited

*Numbers involve only the block meal component, every meal plan has declining balance.  The average spending fromthe declining balance will differ depending on the user*
