Q. Why do I have to show my ID-card every time I enter the dining room? A. Your ID card identifies you as a meal contract holder. When you present your card at each meal, your participation in that respective meal is tabulated. This information is useful to us. If your card is lost or stolen, it protects you from the unauthorized use of your meal plan.
Q. If I lose my ID card, what should I do? A. Contact the Deacon Card Office in the Benson University Center. There is a charge for replacing lost ID cards.
Q. If I don't use all my meals, do they carry over to the following week? A. Yes, any unused meals will carry over from week to week until the end of the semester. However, they do not carry over to the next semester. Note: This does not apply to the All-In-One Plan.
Q. Why can't my friend use my ID card? And, why can't I use a meal for my guests? Someone might as well use it since the meals are paid for? A. First, no one but yourself can use your ID card. This is necessary to prevent fraud and to provide safety for all students. Many ID cards have access to Residence Halls and many have large Deacon OneCard account balances. These important privleges must be safeguarded. Secondly, Meal Plan prices are based on actual meals served, not on meals available. If allowances were made for transferability of meals the cost of the plans would go up. Only the cardholder may use any or all of the meals available in the selected meal plan.
Q. Where can I use my dining membership? A. The Reynolda Fresh Food Company and Magnolia Room offer all-you-care-to-eat meals. Deacon Dollars, cash and credit cards are accepted at Benson Food Court, Shorty's, Subway on the Quad, Campus Grounds, IS Food Court, the Sundry and Polo Area Sundry.
