How do I purchase a meal plan?
You can purchase a meal plan one of three easy ways:
1. Online at https://www.elon.edu/webservices_1/mealplan/
2. In person at the Bursar's office in Alamance 113
3. Over the phone at 877.729.3566
How do I change my meal plan?
Authorized changes are permitted through the second week of the Fall and Spring semesters. The last day to change your meal plan for the Fall 2009 semester was September 15 at 4pm.
What if I'm a commuter or not required to purchase a meal plan?
A meal plan is worth more than you think! You don't have to worry about wasting money on ATM fees or carrying cash. Just swipe your card and go! More combo options in convenient dining spots located everywhere you want to be on campus. Plus, your meal plan is recession proof. That means, when food costs fluctuate, your costs don't.
We know you are busy, and you've got more to do than shop for groceries, cook healthy, well-balanced meals and do dishes. We're here for you. We've got plenty of grab and go options to choose from when you're on the move or take the time to have a meal with us in one of our many dining locations across campus. Either way, we're here to meet your needs.
Why have the meal plans changed?
Extensive research and feedback from students and parents has shown that the selected meal plans better suit the needs of Elon students. However all of the policies regarding meal dollars, food dollars, phoenix cash, and meal rollover will remain unchanged.
Do meals roll over from week to week with meal plans?
Yes. Every Wednesday students will receive a new allotment of meals per week. The number of meals depends on the plan in which the student is enrolled. Any unused meals from the previous week will roll over to the following week throughout the semester. However, a unique Elon feature is that if students decide to purchase the same meal plan or one of greater value for Spring semester, unused meals from Fall will rollover to Spring until the end of the academic year.
What happened to the $2.50 equivalency?
Due to an overwhelming student response, Campus Dining has eliminated the cash equivalency and created more combo options in more locations including new one-swipe options in Varsity and 1889 Grill Room. You can customize your plan by adding Food Dollars to your account at any time to purchase snacks, groceries, and meals in retail locations and restaurants.
What are Food Dollars?
Food Dollars are a pre-paid declining balance account used exclusively in dining locations on campus. Food Dollars are a great way to customize your meal plan based on your individual eating habits (snacking, dining in casual restaurants, purchasing groceries, etc.). You can add Food Dollars at any time. Simply stop by the Phoenix Card office in Moseley 111a.
What are Meal Dollars?
Meal dollars come with your meal plan. These can be used at any Campus Dining facility working on the same principle as a debit card. Meal dollars carry over from Fall to Winter and Winter to Spring throughout the academic year. If you run low on meal dollars, reload with food dollars. Meal dollars carry over from Fall semester to Winter semester and Winter semester to Spring semester throughout an academic year.
Can I treat a friend to a meal on my plan?
Yes. Meals are to be used at the discretion of students. You may treat whomever you want, whenever you want, as long as you are present to swipe your phoenix card.
