As a result of direct feedback from Elon students, Elon Dining Services is making innovative changes to the meal plans for the Fall 2009-Spring 2010 academic year.
The new meal plans offer students the option of purchasing allotments of 5, 10, 15, or 19 meals per week (see requirements/ specifications below). Every Wednesday, students will receive a new allotment of meals. Students are free to use these meals at their discretion any time during the week. If a student finds that they have not used all of their meals during any given week, the unused meals will carry over to the next week and so forth until the end of the semester.
The MEALS PER WEEK portion of each plan can be used at our three “all-you-care-to-eat” facilities, Harden, Upstairs McEwen, and Upstairs Colonnades, OR exchanged for a combo meal at Octagon Café, Croutons, Boar's Head Deli, Fountain Market, The Acorn Coffee Shop or Downstairs McEwen. A typical combo meal includes an entrée, one side, and a fountain drink or filtered water.
The MEAL DOLLARS associated with each plan can be used at any Campus Dining facility working on the same principle as a debit card. They are convenient to use in between meals and at our residential restaurants, retail locations or Brown & Co. Meal dollars cannot be used for tipping purposes at Brown & Co.
Meal Plan Rollover The meal portion of your meal plan WILL rollover from semester to semester. That means that meals will rollover from Fall to Winter and Winter to Spring within the academic year. In Spring semester, any unused meals from Fall and Winter semester will rollover to Spring semester after a TWO week period as long as the student purchases the same meal plan or a meal plan of a greater value. Example: The meals you receive during the first two weeks of spring semester will not include your rollover meals from the previous semester. After those two weeks are up, your rollover meals will be added to your Phoenix card and will be available to use.
