What is the new TOGO membership program?
The programs goal is to develop a cost effective, environmentally friendly solution to the traditional disposable “to-go” container that will reduce waste, encourage more responsible dining habits, build community in the dining halls and reduce overall costs. This program is an opt-in program offered to students, faculty and staff at lunch and dinner only.
The Process:
•Once you have chosen to enroll in the TOGO program, you will receive a reusable TOGO box for immediate use or a key tag for future use.
•Bring the key tag or TOGO box to either dining hall when you would like to take your food out with you.
•Also, bring your TOGO beverage bottle to take out a beverage.
•The next time you return to take out food, bring your dirty TOGO box back to either dining hall to receive a clean, sanitized TOGO box or key tag.
•You will keep your TOGO beverage bottle and will need to bring it back to the dining halls when you would like to take out a beverage as paper cups will no longer be available.
What is a key tag?
•The key tag is similar to one you would received from a grocery store rewards program.
•We recommend you keep it on your key ring so that you do not lose it. It enables you to receive a TOGO box when you return it to the dining hall.
•The key tag is used to redeem a TOGO box so that you don’t have to carry a dirty TOGO box around campus.
•If you choose to receive a key tag, you will have to keep the tag with you and return it to the cashier at either dining hall when you are ready for another TOGO box.
What if...
•If you forget the TOGO box or key tag, you have the option to purchase a replacement for $5.99 or you will need to eat that meal in the dining hall.
•If you lose the TOGO box or the key tag, you will be required to purchase a replacement for $5.99 in order to take food out of the dining halls.
•If the TOGO box breaks, bring all of the pieces into either dining hall for a new replacement box at no cost.
And remember...
•You can purchase a box at either Todd or West End Dining Hall. You can purchase a key tag at Pirate Market or Reade St. Market for taking lunch out of the dining halls at a later date.
•You can bring in the box to be traded for a key tag even if you do not want to use a TOGO meal option at that time.
•You will NOT be able to sit in and/or eat in the dining hall with a TOGO box.
•Styrofoam containers and paper cups will no longer be used in either dining hall.
•Always bring your TOGO beverage bottle with you if you plan to take out a beverage.
•TOGO Beverage bottles will be given out with the program while supplies last.
•You may only take out food for lunch and dinner on Monday through Fridays and on holidays. You may not take out food for breakfast or on the weekends.
