Meal Plans - Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the advantages of having a Meal Plan? Per meal discount. Savings up to 48% off retail food costs, per meal. No need to carry cash= safety. Comfort that your student has well balanced, nutritional meals. Opportunity to socialize and meet new people. Residential Dining restaurants open 7 days a week.
2. What type of Meal Plan do you recommend? That depends on the student, their eating habits and schedule. If you choose the Knights Plan, this provides the most flexibility and savings. With this membership, the students chooses how much and how often they wish to eat each day.
3. What if my student lives off campus? Most off-campus students choose one of our Pegasus Block meal plan. There are a set number of meals per semester.
4. What happens if my daughter joins a sorority that has a meal plan? Cancellations are only permitted for weekly meal plans. A Block cancellation is not permitted for any reason. Deadline to cancel for Fall is September 11, 2009 and January 22, 2009 for Spring Semester. If no meals have been used there is no fee. If meals have been used, simply pay for meals + $100 cancellation fee.
5. Can I change my Meal Plan? Yes, if you purchased a Weekly plan during the first two weeks of class: Fall grace period is until Sept. 11, 2009. ($100 cancellation fee for after the grace period).
6. Can I cancel my Meal Plan? Yes, if you purchased a Weekly plan (Same Grace Periods as above). There is a $100 cancelation fee. After Grace Period, the student needs to pay 50% of the cost of their dining membership + the $100 cancelation fee.
7. Are there Deferments available? Yes. $475 deposit (includes $25 administration fee/non-refundable due at time of application), all papers in packet are due with payment. Remaining balance is due October. 12, 2009 (in Fall pays just for Fall, must pay Spring). Please apply in person.
8. How can I pay for my Meal Plan? Cash, check (made payable to UCF Dining Services), Deferment, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover).
9. What happens if my payment is late? Your Meal Plan account will be placed on hold until we receive the payment.

Dining Dollars - Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the difference between a Meal Plan and a Dining Dollars account? Meal Plans provide set number of meals per week or semester and offer big savings per meal! A Dining Dollars account is like a debit card for food for which you may add money as needed.
2. Do I need to activate my Dining Dollars before I use them around campus? Yes. Dining Dollars need to be activated before you can use them.
3. Where would I go to activate my Dining Dollars? In order to activate your DD, you will need to visit the UCF Dining Services Office located in Ferrell Commons. You must bring your UCF ID Card with you so that we can load the Dining Dollars onto your Purse 2 chip.
4. Since my Dining Dollars will go onto the Purse 2 chip, what else will I need to know so I can start using it around campus? Since your DD is being placed onto Purse 2, you will need to know your 4-digit pin number associated with your UCF ID card. If you do not remember your code or do not have one, you will need to visit the UCF Card Services Office, located in The John T. Washington Center, to redeem another one.
5. Can I add additional money to my Dining Dollars account if I run low throughout the semester? Absolutely! Your UCF ID Card and Dining Dollars works together to function like a debit card. Deposit any amount into your account and access it via your UCF ID card. There is no minimum to maintain and NO FEES. You can purchase additional DD online at www.ucfdining.com or come to the Dining Services Office located in Ferrell Commons
6. Will my Dining Dollars roll over from semester to semester? Dining Dollars roll over to the Spring Semester with the purchase of a Spring Meal Plan or a purchase of $50 of Dining Dollars for the spring. Dining Dollars purchased do not roll over past May 2010.
7. Are there any special savings or discounts when I use my Dining Dollars? Of course! You will receive 10% off of the door rate at Marketplace and Knightro’s when you use your Dining Dollars at these two delicious locations!.
