Are there other Universities that have Freshman Meal Plans?
Yes, within the Southeastern Conference, 7 out of 12 universities participate in Freshman Meal Plans. In the Southern University Group, 25 out of 30 universities participate in Freshman Meal Plans.
What are the characteristics of Meal Plans?
MSU Dining has meal plans that fit every student's lifestyle. Each plan consists of two parts: Block Meals and Flex Dollars. Block Meals can be used at Marketplace at Perry, located right in the center of campus. Flex Dollars can be used at any of our Retail locations on campus, with the exception of Barnes and Noble.
Am I only restricted to the Ultimate Meal Plan as a Freshman? What if I need more flex dollars?
Because we understand everyone has different nutritional needs, MSU Dining Services offers two additional meal plans for those students who want more flex per semester. Our Gold Plan, which consists of 225 meals per semester, is perfect for students who plan to eat around 14 meals per week, which offers $225 in Flex. Our Silver Plan consists of 165 block meals and $225 in Flex Dollars.
What if I pledge a Fraternity or Sorority my freshman year that has a Meal Plan?
Greeks have 2 weeks from Bid Day to change their meal plan. All freshman Fraternity and Sorority members have the option to choose from the Ultimate, Gold, Silver, Bronze or Greek meal plans. Your campus meal plan will be used to supplement the meals eaten at the Fraternity or Sorority house.
What if I would like to treat a guest? Can I do that with my Meal Plan?
