Why get a meal plan?
When parents were asked, “Do you feel your student having a meal plan bettered their first year experience?” nearly 80% of them answered YES! Meal plans are flexible, convenient, and affordable for any student, whether living on campus or commuting. It is stored on your student’s FSUCard so an additional card isn’t necessary for them to carry. Meal plans are the most economical way to dine on campus and give the greatest discounts per meal at our residential dining halls where your student will dine most frequently. Additionally, your student will have a set number of FlexBUCKS to spend at our retail restaurants which include Chili’s, Starbucks, Papa John's, and much more. With a meal plan students will save time, money, and energy.

No need to go grocery shopping! Items you would purchase from a grocery store are available for you at the dining halls and with an ALL ACCESS PASS, you have the freedom of coming in and grabbing a drink or a fruit to-go as many times as you'd like throughout the day!

No need to wash dishes! Since our dining halls are all-you-care-to-eat facilities, there are clean plates and bowls waiting for you at each station. Once you complete your meal, just bring the dishes to our dish return and we will take care of the rest!

No need to waste time cooking or even learning to cook! All our meals, at each station, are prepared and cooked right in front of you. Each ingredient in every meal is fresh and hasn't been sitting under a heat lamp for hours.

What have other parents said?
"Your management were very gracious. I like a big salad with lots of fruit and granola. I love that my daughter can come over and get a good meal whenever she wants. If class is early or late, she’s covered. I never expected her to want it a second year, but I’m delighted! The All Access Pass is the only way I would go!"

"Terrific program....one of the best things about the school!"

"It was convenient and a way to meet up with others. It was also easy to take food back to her room if necessary. No worry about what she would have to fix for dinner."

"Everyone is ALWAYS very nice when I call. As a parent this means a lot."

What is a meal plan?
Each meal plan is a package deal and comes with two components: meals and FlexBUCKS

Meals FlexBUCKS

There are two main residential restaurants here on Florida State University. The Suwannee Room and Fresh Food Company are located on the opposite side of campus both conveniently located from the residence halls. Both restaurants are all-you-care-to-eat and the meals are served fresh at EIGHT different stations: American Diner, Grill, Pasta, Pizza, Salad, Vegan, Deli, and even Dessert. Even though the restaurants have the same stations, the recipes vary and the menus are on an eight week cycle so that students won’t get bored of the food! These meals are allotted in the form of block plans or all access plans.

FlexBUCKS function as a gift card for on campus dining. ALL of our restaurants accept FlexBUCKS and is accessed through the student’s FSUCard. Each meal plan comes with a set value of FlexBUCKS that the student can use throughout the semester. It is a declining balance account, just like a checking account, but there are no hidden or additional fees. Just like a gift card, if there is a shortage in the balance of FlexBUCKS for a transaction, it will simply be declined instead of being charged an overdraft fee.

Which meal plan should I get?
We offer many different types of meal plans and also understand sometimes it can be overwhelming on which plan is right for you. Each student will have their own eating schedule that varies on their daily classes and activities. The ALL ACCESS PASS offers the most discount, convenience, and flexibility for any lifestyle. With this plan, no grocery store trips will be necessary for the whole year. Items you would purchase at the store are avaiable fresh daily at both Suwannee Room and Fresh Food company. With our to-go containers, students can take items such as fruit, cereal, or even fresh juices from our dining halls to accomodate their busy schedules.

If you believe the ALL ACCESS PASS would not fit your lifestyle, we have created a systematic meal plan wizard that can aid you in choosing a meal plan.

Is a meal plan required?
There are only certain residence halls that require a meal plan. Those that require it are Broward, Bryan, Cawthon, Gilchrist, Jennie Murphree, Landis, and Reynolds hall. Most students that are in the remaining halls still choose to purchase a meal plan because they are flexible, convenient, affordable, and a great way to make new friends as they make the transition of moving to college!

When and where do I sign up?
We encourage everyone to talk with their students about the different options of meal plans that are offered before they attend the mandatory FSU Orientation during the summer months. From previous experience, the BEST time to purchase a meal plan is during the FSU Orientation. There will be a 30 minute presentation to the family members providing them with detailed information about the meal plans, how they are used, and also various payments options that are available. Additionally, our Food Crew members will be available to answer any questions that you might have and also to help you register for your meal plan.

We DO NOT charge an additional credit card fee to make an online purchase.

What do I need to sign up?
Since the meal plans are accessed through the student's FSUCard, their FSUCard number is required. They will be receiving the FSUCard during Orientation.

In addition to their FSUCard number, the student's FSUSN is required. This unique number can be found on campus.fsu.edu. For detailed instructions click here.
