Meal Plans Terms & Conditions (Students) |
|
Meal Plan Use Meal plan members may use their meal plan multiple times per day, however, only one (1) meal may be redeemed at a time. If a meal plan member wants to redeem more than one meal at once, a guest meal or other funds must be used. Meal plan users have the option of eating their meal in the dining location or taking their meal to-go, but are not permitted to do both at the same time. Meal plan users may purchase a maximum of two (2) meals at a time at Lakeside Diner, as long as both meals are consumed by the meal plan member. Meals to be consumed by anyone other than the meal plan member must be purchased with guest meals or other funds.
Bringing Guests to the Dining Halls Meal plan members may use up to 10 of their meals per term for guests who they wish to bring to the dining halls.
Where Meal Plans Are Accepted Lakeside Dining Hall, Fresh Food Company, and Burke Dining Hall are all-you-can-eat dining halls that accept meal plans during all regular hours of operation. Doster Café is a wait-staff restaurant that accepts meal plans for specified menu options. Julia’s Market in Tutwiler Hall accepts meal plans for grab-and-go selections. Lakeside Diner accepts meal plans starting at 5 pm each night. Bryant Sports Grill accepts non-athletic meal plans with a standard up charge of $9.75 for dinner and no up charge for lunch.
Athletic Meal Plans Athletic meal plans may be purchased for an additional $360 per term. The athletic meal plan allows members to consume 1 training table meal per day, up to 5 per week, as per NCAA regulations; this applies to athletes and non-athletes alike. Meals consumed above 5 per week are subject to the standard Bryant Sports Grill up charge of $9.75. All students are eligible for the athletic meal plan and do not have to be athletes or on scholarship. Students with regular meal plans may dine at Bryant Sports Grill using their meal plan with payment of the standard Bryant Sports Grill up charge of $9.75.
Fraternities and Sororities Freshman students that join an on-campus organization (such as a fraternity or sorority) that requires the purchase of 10 meals per week or more within their organization house, will automatically have their meal plan reduced to the Greek 40 meal plan (40 meals per semester) on or before September 24, 2008. Freshman students that join a fraternity or sorority that does not require the purchase of 10 meals or more will be required to remain on their original freshman meal plan. Students who qualify for the Greek 40 meal plan are also given the option of upgrading to a standard meal plan, or have no meal plan and pay a fee of $197 per semester. Students who choose to have no meal plan will have no meals. All requests for the no-meal-plan option must be received by September 24, 2008 for fall pledges. Students who pledge during the spring term must request the no-meal-plan option by January 31st, 2009, or be subject to the automatic downgrade to the Greek 40 plan. If a freshman pledge decides to leave their Greek organization, they will be returned to their original freshman meal plan.
Cancellations / Termination of Contract Cancellations are only accepted for first-year students with evidence of housing exemption. Meal plan cancellations for the fall term are not permitted after September 3rd, 2008 (upperclassmen only). Spring cancellations are only permitted for upperclassmen who are new meal plan members as of the Spring 2009 Term. Meal plan cancellations for the spring term will not be accepted after January 21st, 2009. All meal plan cancellations will incur a $35 processing fee. Members who cancel their meal plan contract will not retain any meal plan privileges. |
