Freshman Year Experience
The University of Alabama is committed to providing its students with a comprehensive educational experience. The University has determined that for most first year students, on-campus dining has numerous educational, social, and dietary benefits. In recognition of the value of the living-learning experience, the University of Alabama requires first year students to participate in the Freshman Year Experience Meal Plans.

Meal Plans are listed by semester price, semester meals and semester Dining Dollars. All meal plans come with 10 guest meals per semester and unused meals roll over from the fall to spring semester. Unused meals at the end of the spring semester do not roll over into the summer or following fall semester. Please note that the price per semester does not include $300 Dining Dollars*. Dining Dollars are billed separately on a student's receivables bill**.
First Year Meal Plans
Bama Unlimited - $1602 per semester*
Unlimited meals; please note that this does not include the required $300 Dining Dollars.
Bama Gold - $1440 per semester*
220 meals per semester; please note that this does not include the required $300 Dining Dollars.
Bama Silver - $1165 per semester*
160 meals per semester; please note that this does not include the required $300 Dining Dollars.
All meal plans are annual contracts and are billed during the fall and spring semesters. All requests for Freshman Year Experience Meal Plan downgrades must be received by 3:00pm, September 3, 2008 and will incur a $35.00 processing fee. There is neither a deadline nor a processing fee for Freshman Year Experience Meal Plan upgrades. All prorated funds from a downgrade or upgraded meal plan will be based on the number of meals allotted per week or the number of meals consumed, whichever is greater. Any remaining Roll-Over Meals or Guest Meals from a downgraded meal plan will not be transferred onto a new meal plan. Click here, Meal Plan Terms and Conditions, to review important information.
