ARAMARK serves Green Mountain Coffee at all four of our Vermont Colleges:  Castleton State, Johnson State, Lyndon State and Vermont Technical College.

Headquartered in Waterbury, Vermont, Green Mountain Coffee provides jobs for over 900 full time employees, with the majority located in Waterbury. As a corporation, Green Mountain Coffee, like its namesake state, is committed to environmental and social responsibility.  The company gives 5% of its pre-tax profits to the Brewing a Better World Fund, created to support the local and coffee growing communities.

As an enterprise, Green Mountain Coffee embraces a progressive environmental stewardship strategy that encompasses nearly every aspect of its operation.

Green Mountain Coffee:

  • Operates a multi-tiered Green House Gas offset program that envelops all aspects of the company’s operation
  • Offers a completely environmentally friendly eco-cup that is made from 100% natural and renewable resources.  The cup is made of paper from sustainably managed tree farms, to reduce the potential harm to existing forests. Additionally, the cup is also 100% compostable.
  • Uses biodiesel in its local fleet of trucks and, as a result estimates a 20% reduction in fuel related green house gas impact
  • Partners with the Burlington, Vermont Intervale Center, to create an innovative program for composting coffee chaff, which has resulted in diverting over 289 tons of organic waste away from landfills
  • Offers 45 fair traded organic coffee products, which represent over 20% of sales.

ARAMARK Dining Services is proud to partner with a company such as Green Mountain Coffee that is engaged and committed to protecting and preserving the beautiful state of Vermont. (and providing a good cup of coffee also!)
