Fresh Food Company is located in Cheney Hall; a state-of-the-art, culinary revolution in campus dining today. It is modeled after a European Marketplace and the food is similar to what you would find at an upscale restaurant rather than a college cafeteria. You will find an abundant variety of fresh foods prepared your way every day. Our chefs stand ready to serve up an exciting menu of your favorite items including hand-tossed pizza, Asian cuisine, grilled panini sandwiches and more—all cooked to your liking!

Daily features include traditional home-style meals, fresh cooked pastas with simmering sauces, specialty sandwiches, and much more. Enjoy hot and hearty soups, bisques and chowders, a healthy salad bar, vegetarian options and fresh baked mouth-watering desserts. 


Going to miss a meal?
Fill out the Chef Express form out and drop it off at either check-in station in Cheney a minimum of 24 hours in advance, and your meal will be ready for pick up when you need it.

  • Gluten-friendly turkey chili and minestrone soup served daily at the soup station
  • A minimum of four gluten-friendly cereals provided daily at the cereal station
  • Two dedicated stations serving gluten-friendly entrees at every meal period
    • Hot plated entree
    • Stir fry/omelet station
  • Gluten-friendly refrigerator stocked with bread, desserts and other snacks
  • Gluten-friendly bread baked fresh daily in our bakery available at the salad bar
  • Ingredients substituted when possible to make dishes gluten-friendly
    • Use cornstarch or arrowroot in place of flour for roux
    • Incorporate gluten-friendly bases into sauces and sides

  Healthy Features





  • Our daily menu is posted online and on our CampusDish mobile app so you can plan your meal ahead of time.
  • Nutritional information for each of our menu items is available on our website up to 3 weeks in advance, and daily on our mobile app CampusDish and in front of every station.
  • Everything we serve is made fresh daily and is completely customizable.  So if steak stir-fry is on the menu and steak is not a part of your diet, simply ask for a serving without it!
  • All of our stations have butter, oil and non-stick cooking spray.  If you're trying to remain health-conscious, ask for spray as an alternative to butter or oil.
  • We are in the process of experimenting with low fat and/or low calorie desserts.  Keep your eye out for these appealing alternatives.
  • Sustainability is a passion of ours.  We strive to purchase local produce whenever possible as well as sustainable seafood.
  • We make our own salad dressings fresh every day.  This allows us to be sure that there are no unwanted additives or preservatives.
  • If you're craving some Cheney Fries, breathe easy, our fryer oil is trans-fat free!
  • At the end of your meal, if you're looking for something sweet, check out our bakery for a variety of trans-fat free muffins, cookies and other delicious treats.
