Sustainability on Campus

Through a collaborative effort of Students, Administrators and Dining, Brandeis will be the site for monthly farmers market featuring many local produce vendors.  For more information, click here.

Above: The Dining Services team presents a donation from the proceeds of the Farmers Market Project to the Greening Class. This Farmers Market Project included the sale of popular home made baked breads.


At Dining Services, we respect our responsibility to the planet, the environment and the community in which we work.  We nurture our world with a commitment to sound environmental and business practices.  We recognize our mutual global interdependence and develop programs with a holistic focus to preserve vibrant communities, support ecological systems, and embrace a sustainable future.  Recently, Dining Services switched to 100% recycled paper for all printers, photocopies, and other office use.

In October 2006, Dining Services introduced locally grown produce in all dining locations.  All locally grown produce is labeled and the variety changes daily based on the harvest and season.

Our main produce provider Sid Wainer & Sons proudly partners and supports these local farms to bring to our dining operations local products and support local economics:
