Meal Plans have been developed to provide you with flexibility and convenience to fit your dining and academic lifestyle needs. UCI Dining offers a variety of dining options to meet the nutritional needs and diverse tastes of UCI students. Students living in the residence halls choose from the following 3 meal plan options. The cost of each plan is figured into your total (room and board) housing rate:
- 165 meals per quarter with $50.00 FlexDine Dollars (equivalent to 15 meals/week)
- 120 meals per quarter with $75.00 FlexDine Dollars (equivalent to 11 meals/week)
- 100 meals per quarter with $75.00 FlexDine Dollars (equivalent to 9 meals/week)
The FlexDine Dollars that come with the meal plan are to be used to supplement dining commons meals. Students are encouraged to use their FlexDine Dollars at the various retail dining establishments on campus. In doing so, students get to experience a variety of food options and have even more flexibility of dining when they want where they want.
Your Meal Allowance and FlexDine Dollars are loaded on to your Student ID card. Meals can be eaten at Mesa Commons, Pippin, or Brandywine Commons. Each time a meal is eaten, your ID Card will be swiped, and one meal is subtracted from your quarterly allowance. Unused meals expire by the end of the quarter, and they do not carry over to the next quarter and are non-transferable. You can use your meal plan for any meal period during the quarter.
FlexDine Dollars are loaded onto meal cards at the beginning of the quarter, and each time a purchase is made the money is subtracted from your account. Unused FlexDine Dollars transfer from quarter to quarter. However, any unused FlexDine Dollars remaining at the end of the academic year (end of Spring quarter) are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to the new academic year.
FlexDine Dollars can be used at Mesa Commons, Pippin, Brandywine Commons, Phoenix Grille, BCs Cavern on the Green, Cyber A Café, campus Starbucks, Café Med, C3 Convenience Store, Zot-n-Go Market, and Student Center Food Courts. Use FlexDine Dollars to purchase beverages, snacks or full meals at any time.
If your Meal Allowance and FlexDine Dollars get spent before the end of the quarter, students have the option of adding additional meals to their card by purchasing Zot Bucks or a Voluntary Meal Plan.
