Meal Plans

Residential Meal Plans

Whether you live on or off campus, a Meal Plan is by far the most economical and most convenient way to eat on campus. For your convenience all Meal Plans will be billed to your university bill.  Meals can be used for all-you-care-to-eat meals in The Fresh Food Company or at many of our other dining locations to purchase predetermined 'Value Meals'. Residential Meal Plan members may use up to 4 meals throughout the day.

All plans now have Meal Plan dollars to give you more value and convenience – you don’t have to worry about having cash in your pocket when you want to buy something. By using Meal Plan Dollars, you will save 11% every time you make a purchase in any retail dining locations including the on campus convenience stores. Plus, if you happen to have Meal Plan Dollars left at the end of the fall semester, they will rollover to the spring semester, giving you more time to use them!

Freshmen Requirements
Freshmen coming into WKU who are required to live on campus are also required to have one of the meal plans listed below for an entire academic year. Meal Plan Members will automatically be re-enrolled for the same plan chosen in the Fall semester for the Spring semester. This requirement is not influenced by changes in class standing that may occur during the student’s first year at WKU. Some exemptions may be granted for verifiable medical conditions that can not be fulfilled by any of the memberships. Appeals for exemption from this University requirement may be made in writing via email to
tim.colley@wku.edu.

Residential Meal Plans:
The number in front of a Meal Plan option denotes the number of meals per week the meal member is entitled to. Students may use up to 4 meals a day at any time.

Meal Plan Dollars:
Meal Plan Dollars come with Meal Plans to supplement your options and offer you even more flexibility! Use Meal Plan Dollars in all campus dining locations and at the on campus convenience stores. Meal Plan Dollars work just like Dining Dollars, but since they are only packaged with a Meal Plan, they are offered at a bargain price. By using Meal Plan Dollars, you receive an 11% discount on your retail purchases, and when using them in the Fresh Food Company, you will receive $1 off the meal price.

Dining Dollars:
This is a debit account accessed by the student ID. The Dining Dollars account is often used to supplement a full meal plan. The dollars deposited in this account may only be used for items purchased in all dining operations. You have the added security of not having to carry cash for meals and snacks. Additionally, it is a better value than cash because it gives you a discount of 11%, just like Meal Plan Dollars.

Meal Membership Cancelation Policy:
Students may upgrade, downgrade or cancel their meal plan within the first three (3) weeks of each semester.

Meal plans may not be changed or canceled after the first three (3) weeks of the semester in accordance with the university policy. Refunds will not be given for a meal plan after the first three (3) weeks of each semester.

If you have questions or concerns, contact the Restaurant & Catering Group at 270-745-2416 or come to DUC Room 124.
