Essential Dining Plans - Monroe Park

These dining plans are designed to meet the dining needs of all students residing in dormitory-style university housing. Students residing in University Housing (Brandt, Johnson, Rhoads, West Grace, GRC II and GRC III) are required to purchase one of the following dining plans:

These plans automatically renew for the Spring 2010 semester and are priced per semester

(subject to approval by the VCU Board of Visitors).

 

If a Dining Plan is not selected by July 20, 2009, the 200 Block + 300 Dining Dollars plan
will be assigned so that Student Accounting can capture all appropriate charges on the student bill.
Don't worry - this plan can be changed up to Friday, September 4, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.



All block plan participants are required to present a valid VCUCard to receive dining plan privileges.

DINING DICTIONARY
Block Plan

Blocks are dining center "swipes" used primarily at Shafer Court Dining Center or to purchase a meal combo through the Meal Exchange program. Each Block equals one dining plan swipe. Blocks do not carry between semesters.

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars work like a pre-paid debit card that allows for food purchases at Shafer Court Dining Center or any VCU retail dining location.

Dining Center

This exciting location, offering unlimited servings, has redefined campus dining with its marketplace-style "mini-restaurants" that dish out great tasting food with individual attention.Market 810 is located on the second floor of Shafer Court Dining Center on the Monroe Park Campus.

Retail Locations Retail locations accept Dining Dollars, Rambucks, cash, checks and credit/debit cards with the exception of McDonald's, which accepts cash and credit cards only.

The retail locations are:
- Camille's Sidewalk Cafe located on the first floor of Shafer Court Dining Center
- Commons Cafe, Commons Convenience and Park Place located in the University Student Commons
- Starbucks Coffee located in James Branch Cabell Library
- Harris Hall Convenience Store located on the first floor of Grace E. Harris Hall
- Bookmark Bistro, featuring Quiznos Subs and "We Proudly Brew" Starbucks Coffee, located in Barnes & Nobel @ VCU on Broad Street
- Bleecker Street Cafe located in Snead Hall
- Chili's, Starbucks Coffee and the Cary Street Market & Deli located in the Cary and Belvidere Residential College at the corner of Belvidere and Cary streets
- Alpine Bagel Cafe and McDonald's located in the Gateway Building on the MCV Campus
- Hideaway Cafe located in Hunton Student Center on the MCV Campus
- Skull & Beans located in Tompkins-McCaw Library
- Cabaniss Hall breakfast option - now accepts meal blocks, Dining Dollars, RamBucks and credit cards


* Dining plan purchases and changes may be made in the Department of Business Services' office, 1111 W. Broad Street, Suite 128. Changes to block plans will be accepted until:
(fall 2008 semester, September 4, 2009; spring 2009 semester, January 29, 2010).

* Block plans are for the use of the dining contract participant only and are non-transferable.

The following block plans have the ability for twenty (20) of their meals to be used as guest meals:

 

  • 300 Block Plan with 100 Dining Dollars
  • 250 Block Plan with 300 Dining Dollars
  • 250 Block Plan with 175 Dining Dollars
  • 200 Block Plan with 300 Dining Dollars
  • 200 Block Plan with 150 Dining Dollars
