HOW DOES THE MEAL PLAN WORK? Meal plans are geared specifically to give you better dining value for your dollar when you use your Mountcard instead of paying cash. The plan consists of two main features: Mountie Meals and Flex Dollars
Mountie Meals: Mountie Meals are money saving complete dinners that you may use throughout the semester. Simply present your meal card as you exit the servery in the McGowan Center and the meal will be deducted from the balance in your account. Each Mountie Meal includes a salad, one generous, freshly prepared entrée, two mouth-watering side dishes, beverages, bread and your choice of scrumptious dessert. Mountie meals may be used between 4:30 and 7:30 nightly.
Flex Dollars: Flex Dollars are accounts that can be used to purchase food at any of the dining venues on campus and work on the same principle as a bank debit card. As the name suggests, Flex Dollars are flexible in that they can be used almost wherever and whenever food is sold on campus. The flex dollar portion of your meal plan is intended to be used to purchase your breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch or late night meals. They can also be used to stock your room with snack items from our convenience store.
Flex dollars offer a student the flexibility to use their meal plan when his or her busy schedule allows.
The Mountaineer The Mountaineer offers $870.00 Flex Dollars to be spent at your discretion in the servery for breakfast or lunch, C3 convenience store, Mount Café or at select vending machines on campus. In addition, the Mountaineer includes the convenience of 7 complete Mountie Meals per week in the Patriot Hall Food Court

Dining Dollars If you are not required to have a dining plan, live off campus, in a suite with a kitchen or in the apartment complex, consider opening a Dining Dollar account with as little as $5.00. Dining Dollars offer the same flexibility as flex dollars and allow you to make purchases in Patriot Hall, the Mount Café, Convenience store, basketball concessions tax-free. You may also make purchases at select vending machines on campus.
