Excerpts from the Eastern Progress:

Grille Works works for me
Joe Montgomery

Issue date: 9/27/07 Section: Features

Almost all of us have been there sometime during the school year. The Fountain Court in Powell supplies us throughout the semester when we get late-night munchies and afternoon hungers. And it never fails to run up the bills on our flex cards.

One of the fast food joints slipping money from our pockets is Grille Works, a new addition to Powell replacing the always-raunchy Burger King. In comparison to the King, who always served miniature meals for a super-sized price, Grille Works is a nice change. The burgers are bigger and better, and it offers the cheapest meal available in the Food Court. [. . . ] But Grille Works offers cheaper alternatives to their higher-priced items for us poor college folk.

But Grille Works has a downfall. With cheap prices come wide hips. You can expect the same artery clogging, fat-between-a-bun food that fast food restaurants are famous for serving. But don't feel so bad for going off your diet, because the restaurant serves all its food with zero percent trans fat, subsiding at least some of our guilt for indulging.

The restaurant stays open until 2 a.m., which is a good thing for curing that late-night craving. At this time of night the lines are short, but the same can't be promised earlier in the day. [. . . ] Grille Works is a decent place to grab a bite. It's tasty, it's fairly cheap, and, if you avoid lunchtime, it will have you chowing down fast.
