First Steps The first step in planning a successful catered event is to make certain the room you desire is available. Room reservations are made through the Events Office by calling (412) 396-6033. This office can also assist you with making arrangements for podiums, sound systems, staging, room diagrams, and the like.
Once your room and arrangements are secure, your next step is to review the Catering Guide to determine the specific menu you desire. We will be happy to accommodate special diets (e.g. low-fat and vegetarian meals) with advance notice. We are available to help with recommendations, service styles, floral choices and more. Please note that we require two (2) weeks notice for any catered event.
To arrange your catering contact the Catering Director, Carol Evanick, at (412) 396-6623 or the Assistant Catering Director, Tina Morton, at (412) 396-6613. Remember, close coordination with our staff will help insure that your event is of the highest quality.

Special Information Although we require two weeks prior notice for any catered events, we will make every effort to accommodate your group on less notice whenever possible. A five percent (5%) late charge will be added to any order not received within three business days prior to your event.
All prices in the Catering Guide are based upon service within the Duquesne Union Building. A delivery charge will be applied to all deliveries less than $75.00.
Basic linen is included in the price of your meal. Specialty linen (e.g. ballroom length tablecloths, prints, overlays, skirting, etc.) is available for an extra charge.
For all clients who are not billed through the University, a sales tax will be charged to your event. If you, or your organization is tax exempt, a copy of your tax exempt certificate will be required prior to your event .
Due to Pennsylvania Department of Health Regulations, and food safety liabilities, it is our policy that food and beverages not consumed during your event may not be removed. Your health and well being is our primary concern.
