PENN DINING AND TRANS FAT
We are committed to providing a wide range of healthy choices for students. We work closely with suppliers, dietitians, chefs and consumers to find the most innovative and tasteful solutions. Penn Dining Services was already using fryer oil that was zero grams trans fat in some locations, and the conversion to zero grams trans fat fryer oil in all of our operations on the Penn campus was complete as of January 8, 2007. UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA VOTED ONE OF THE MOST VEGETARIAN-FRIENDLY UNIVERSITIES IN THE U.S.
In an online contest sponsored by peta2, the world’s largest youth animal rights organization, thousands of students were asked to vote for the most vegetarian-friendly college or university in the U.S. from an elite list of 30 nominees, and the votes have been tallied. The University of Pennsylvania is ranked ninth in the nation.

PENN DINING AND ICELANDIC SEAFOOD
During the month of October, Penn Dining, the Consulate of Iceland and Icelandic Seafood Company, partnered to bring Penn an array of events showcasing the culture of Iceland including film, music, lectures and seafood. To top it all off, a lucky Penn student had the chance to win a gourmet trip for two to Iceland! Winner to be announced.

PENN DINING DONATES VALUE OF 900 MEALS TO PHILABUNDANCE
Penn students were invited to donate up to 10% of their leftover meals to benefit local food bank, Philabundance. Over 900 meals were donated and Penn Dining purchased non-perishable goods for the charity.
