What Are the Advantages?
There are lots of privileges you will be able to enjoy if you sign up for a meal plan...

  • The security of guaranteed meals or the flexibility of a la carte dining
  • You never have to worry about cooking or doing the dishes
  • Lots of great food choices
  • And of course Members do not pay sales tax on food purchases!

How Do They Work?
(This information pertains to Fall/Spring meal plan purchases.)

Meal plans allow you to enjoy all the great dining privileges we have in store for you. With the wonders of technology, we transform your student ID card into a dining card packed with unlimited buying potential and the ability to eat when and how you like. Best of all when you use a plan to dine you pay no sales tax!

The meals per week portion of your plan can be used at the Dubinsky Student Center first floor Cafe. Each time you eat, one meal is subtracted from your weekly meal balance. You may choose the number of meals based on your desired eating habits and academic schedule.

All of the meal plan choices come with a certain amount of Declining Balance built in. Declining balance is accepted like cash at all of our Dining locations on campus. It works on the same principle as a bank debit card. Whenever you buy a meal on campus, the total amount of your purchase is subtracted from your account.

Please Note: Residents may select/change their meal plan online by going onto
MyHousing@FIT”.  Residents in traditional style rooms will be billed for a meal plan each fall and spring semester. Any unused declining balance dollars from the fall semester may roll over to the spring but cannot be used toward the spring semester food service bill. Unused spring semester declining balance dollars are non refundable. Meal plans are available to suite/apartment residents at an additional cost. Dining Membership will be billed as part of your 2013 – 2014 Residential Housing fee
.
