How do I sign up for a Meal Plan?
It's easy! Login to your
myESU portal and follow the prompts below to choose the meal plan you want. Your student account will then be billed for the cost of the meal plan.

Click on Student Tab in myESU
Click Meal Plan & Dining Tools
Click Manage My Dining
Select the meal plan you want
Click Submit

What Meal Plan am I eligible for?
All students living on campus in a regular residence hall are required to choose either the 19, 15, or 175 Meal Plan. All students living on campus in the University Apartments are eligible for any of the meal plan options. All students living in University Ridge, off campus, or commuting to ESU are also eligible for any meal plan. Click here to view descriptions and pricing for each meal plan.


Can I change my Meal Plan?
Yes, during the first two weeks of the semester, you have the opportunity to change your Dining Membership. Simply go to the myESU portal
, sign in, and adjust your meal plan to your liking. Your student account will then be adjusted accordingly. Having trouble...please contact us at 570-422-3998.

Where can I eat on campus?
All dining locations listed on this website accept Meal Swipes and/or Dining Dollars. Use one Meal Swipe in Dansbury Commons and enjoy an all you care to eat meal! Or use your Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars in Center Court, Late Nite in Dansbury Commons, and the coffee shops, and convenience stores on campus.

How do I access my Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars?
Your meal plan and FLEX dollars are loaded onto your ESU student ID card. Simply hand your ID to the cashier and they will deduct a Meal Swipe or FLEX dollars from your account. Need to know how many meal swipes or FLEX you have left? Click

Can I carry over my unused meals to the next week/semester?
It depends on which meal plan you have. If you have a 19, 15, or 10 Meal Plan, the meals must be used in that week because they do not carry over to the next week. Every Monday morning starts a new week of meals that must be used by Sunday late night. However, if you have a 175 or 75 Block Meal Plan, you have a set number of meals to use for the entire semester. Block Meal Plans do not carry over to the next semester. We can help you decide on the right plan to fit your schedule and eating habits, ensuring that you get the full value for your dollars.

Can I treat a friend by using my Meal Plan?
Each meal plan comes with 5 Guest Meals that you may use to treat a guest at Dansbury Commons. Dining Dollars are accepted at all locations so you can simply treat your guest with your Dining Dollars instead.

How many meals can I use?
Students with 19, 15, or 10 Meal Plans can use up to three (3) meals/day during the four (4) meal zones, Monday – Friday and up to two (2) meals/day on Saturday and Sunday. Students with 175 or 75 Block Meal Plans have no restrictions on the number of meals used in a meal zone or day.

What is a Meal Zone?

Meal Zones are certain times when 19, 15, and 10 Meal Plan holders may use a Meal Swipe. You may only use one Meal Swipe per Meal Zone.

Monday - Friday Zones
Breakfast: 7:00 am – 10:45 am
Lunch: 10:46 am – 4:30 pm
Dinner: 4:31 pm - 8:00 pm
Late Night: 9:00 pm - 12:00 midnight

Saturday & Sunday Zones
Brunch: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
Dinner: 4:31 pm – 6:00 pm
Late Night: 9:00 pm – 12:00 midnight

How much is a Meal Swipe worth?
When using a Meal Swipe in the food courts, coffee shops, and convenience stores on campus, you want to use your Meal Allowance. This means one Meal Swipe is worth $4.65. Example: Your food court purchase totals $5.50. The cashier will deduct one meal and you will owe $0.85. Use your FLEX dollars to pay for the remaining $0.85. You never have to carry cash or credit!

What if I only want a coffee, how should I pay?
Simply "FLEX" your coffee because the purchase is less than the $4.65 Meal Allowance. See below for more information on FLEX!


What are Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars aka FLEX are dollars that you can use at any dining location on campus. FLEX works similar to your debit account but are loaded on your student ID with your meal plan swipes. All meal plans come with some amount of FLEX included in the meal plan cost. Use FLEX to supplement your Meal Swipes used in food courts, coffee shops, and convenience stores on campus. FLEX may also be used to purchase coffees, bottled beverages, or small snacks throughout the day when you don't want to use a Meal Swipe.


What do I do when my Dining Dollars run low?
Reload. Simply add to your account by logging onto your m
yESU portal and adding Dining Dollars to your account. Deposits can be made in any amount at any time.

Do I get to keep my FLEX?
Yes and no...at the end of the fall semester your remaining FLEX Dollars will roll over to the spring semester. However FLEX Dollars do NOT roll over from academic year to year, are non-refundable and non-transferable. Don't deposit more than you need!


Where can I eat healthy on campus?
It is important to remember that eating healthy is all about making the right choices! All dining locations on campus offer a variety of nutritious options.

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?
Be sure to visit the Safe Zone at the Home Zone in Dansbury Commons for a variety of gluten free, nut free, vegetarian, vegan, and other allergen free entrees. Searching for lactose free beverages? Enjoy Silk Soymilk from the machines in Dansbury Commons daily.

How do I cancel my meal plan (if applicable)?
There are 3 ways to cancel your meal plan.

3. Stop by Dansbury Commons and ask to speak to a manager
