Barnard Dining Services offers four meal plan options for those students not required to be on a mandatory plan.  The broad range of options offers you the flexibility and freedom to make your own dining decisions.  The key to enjoying the options available is to match one of the following plans to your dining preferences and class schedule.

The Unlimited Plan also offers guest passes.  If you wish to bring along a friend, guest passes may be used in the residence dining facility located in Hewitt Hall.  Simply tell the checker you wish to use a guest pass when you arrive.

Meal plan points may be used at any of our retail locations on the Barnard campus.  Each point carries a value of $1.00.  Meal Plan Points are not redeemable on the Columbia campus.

Meal Plan Points carry over from fall to spring semester, if you remain on a meal plan during the spring semester.  Meals, however, do not.

Meal Plan Points

  • Meal Plan Points are "dollars" that are part of your meal plan that you can use like cash at any dining location on campus.
  • You may use these points to purchase à la carte meals and snacks for guests and friends.
  • Meal Plan Points carry over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester if you remain enrolled in a meal plan in the Spring.
  • Meal Plan Points remaining on account at the end of the academic year are forfeited.

Dining Dollars

  • Dining Dollars are dollars deposited in your account much like a bank account that can be used to supplement your dining plan.
  • Dining Dollars provides you the convenience of purchasing items on
both the Barnard and Columbia campuses.
  • Dining Dollars carry over from year to year. Any Dining Dollars unused by the end of your Senior year will be forfeited.
  • When you use Dining Dollars, simply tell the cashier, and they will be deducted from you account.
  • Dining Dollars are available initially in $100.00 increments.
  • You may purchase Dining Dollars at the Dining Services Office located in Hewitt Hall or the Dining Customer Service Center in 18 Hartley Hall on the Columbia Campus.
