Consider being eco-friendly...
Our food choices can significantly contribute to green house gas emissions, those unwanted gases that cause climate change? The environmental impact aka carbon foot print is a result of how our food is produced, processed and also in large part how our food’s travels from field to fork.
To calculate your own footprint visit www.zerofootprint.net/calculators - there is a portion dedicated just to food!
From there you can purchase carbon offsets to fund reforestation projects and other initiatives that will help make your food choices more carbon neutral!

ARAMARK Canada is a proud supporter of Coffee Kids, an international non-profit organization that helps coffee-farming families in their efforts to improve the quality of their lives. Coffee Kids raises funds from the global coffee community to support community-based development projects that promote health, education and most importantly, income diversification for coffee-farming families in Latin America. Additionally, Coffee Kids develops awareness among coffee consumers and businesses to living conditions where coffee is grown and what can be done to improve them.
Coffee Kids is a program which all our Java coffee supports. This program does not go through middlemen to help the farmers but rather directly supports the communities to improve the quality of life for not only the farmers and their families but the entire community.
What does Coffee Kids do for the community?
- Economic Diversification (so farmers are no longer totally reliant upon coffee as a sole source of income and are able to feed their families 12 months every year regardless of the price of coffee.)
- Education (providing essential grants to local elementary schools for books, desks and other critical materials so children can attend school instead of work in the coffee fields)
- High School and University Scholarships (to provide opportunity for qualified students who wish to further their education and build careers both in and outside of the coffee industry)
- Nutrition (providing programs that assist coffee farming families in their efforts to create affordable and nutritious food for their families and their communities)
- Healthcare (helping communities in their efforts to teach basic health care, preventative healthcare and traditional medicines so affordable healthcare is accessible to coffee farmers and their families.)
We have selected the Rural Children's Education Foundation (FHC) as our beneficiary. For every cup of coffee purchased a contribution is made to Coffee Kids which goes to the Rural Children's Education Foundation supporting grants to elementary schools and scholarships to high school and university students. ARAMARK is part of the Gold Bean Club (the highest contributor award given out by Coffee Kids)
