Farm to Table Program at Dalhousie
ARAMARK's Farm to Table is an educational program focusing on:
1. Seasonal Menus, 2. Promoting local menu items and, 3. Bringing local farmers into our 4 dining halls!
ARAMARK partners with local growers and co-ops to purchase local produce, dairy, bread, chicken, beef, pork, fish and more! The Farm to Table Program buys locally, which increases support of local farmers and the community, conserves energy, and creates less pollution when food travels fewer miles to reach Dalhousie!

2. Promoting local menu items - Using our LCD screens located in our 4 dining halls, we are able to promote daily local menu items! We not only promote the local items, but also promote their nutritional value, nutritional benefits and other information about our local suppliers. Take a minute to read our LCD screens today! 3. Bringing local farmers into our 4 dining halls - To support students efforts toward sustainable living, ARAMARK has arranged to bring local farmers into the dining halls! Check out some pictures below of past events:

On Tuesday, September 29th 2009, Paul Nickerson from Sysco along with other local food producers were at our Howe Hall Dining Location to answer student questions and distribute samples of locally grown produce. Students were invited to play Local Farm-to-Table Trivia and enter to win prizes such as Dalhousie laptop bags, Dalhousie water bottles, and ARAMARK Green Thread Travel Mugs. The night was a huge sucess! Check out the pictures below!
On Monday, February 9th, 2009, Brad from H&E Keddy Brothers was at our Shirreff Hall Dining Hall Location to answer student questions and distribute samples of locally grown produce.
